An Aug. 11 article on page 3, "Federal Reserve Appoints Ombudsman; OTS Says It Will Fill Post Within 2 Weeks," understated the number of appeals handled by Sam Golden, the ombudsman at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

The 48 cited in the article include only those that bankers have made directly to Mr. Golden. In addition, 123 appeals have been forwarded to him by the Comptroller's regional offices.
