A Sept. 14 news brief on page 10 erred in saying BankAmerica Mortgage had committed itself to lending a specific sum to low-income Hispanics.

The $1.1 billion figure in the story referred to two recent commitments in a $115 billion program targeting low-income people of all ethnic groups. That program has no special set-aside for Hispanics.

A Sept. 17 chart with "MGIC Unit Set to Auction $988M Servicing Portfolio" (page 11) understated the price that a MGIC Investor Services Corp. official predicted the package would fetch. The story quoted him correctly: $12.8 million to $14.3 million.
