WASHINGTON - Jon Corzine, the former Goldman Sachs Group co-chairman who has turned politician, won the endorsement Friday of the U.S. senator he hopes to succeed.
Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., said he supports Mr. Corzine in his battle against former Gov. Jim Florio for the Democratic Senate nomination. Mr. Florio has been active in politics for 30 years and leads in the polls, but Mr. Corzine has been winning support among the party's establishment.
