Credit Card Disputes Go Mobile at Citi

Citigroup customers can now dispute credit card charges through its app, one of several mobile enhancements the company rolled out Wednesday.

The new feature, initially available for iPhone users in the United States, aims to give customers peace of mind about "an often emotional process," Citi said in a news release. It is expected to be introduced for Android users later this month.

Damaged goods and duplicate charges are among the consumer complaints that are fair game for challenging merchants, according to Citi, which described the move as part of its effort to "reimagine" mobile banking.

"In a world that is increasingly digital by default, we are intently focused on servicing our cardmembers where they want and when they want," Alice Milligan, chief customer and digital experience officer for global cards and consumer services, said in the release.

Other app enhancements include the ability to request a credit limit increase, view recurring charges and enroll in paperless statements.
