Crestar offers home banking via touch-tone phones.

RICHMOND, Va. - Crestar Bank has introduced debit card and telephone bill-payment services.

The debit card, called Premier MoneyCard, enables customers to deduct point-of-sale payments directly from their checking accounts.

The card is part of the Visa Check program, usable at any merchant that takes Visa cards, as well as in the Interlink or Most point-of-sale programs.

The bill-payment service permits customers to pay monthly bills via touch-tone telephone.

Charles H. Rand, executive vice president for consumer services at the Crestar Financial Corp. unit, said the offerings underscore consumers' demands for services that allow them to "bank with us on their terms."
