Cybersource to Guard Nike, Rocketcash Sites

Cybersource Corp. said its fraud-screening system for Internet commerce has been chosen for use in the nike.com and rocketcash.com Web sites.

Cybersource said early indications from a three-month pilot with the Nike sports apparel on-line store are that credit card fraud exposure fell substantially. The Internet Fraud Screen helped establish Cybersource as one of the pioneering transaction processing service companies for Internet merchants.

"Creating a secure shopping environment that would protect our customers and our company was top priority," said Sam Bradach, logistics director at Nike Inc. "We selected Cybersource because we saw that their product was technically sound and reliable, they proved that they could implement it in a very short time frame, and we were impressed with the service and support they offered."

At Rocketcash Corp., which developed an Internet gateway service for parentally authorized shopping by teenagers, "Cybersource plays a key role in enabling ... safe and secure on-line shopping service," said Carol Kruse, Rocketcash's marketing vice president and a co-founder. The Cybersource system's ability to screen for fraud in a matter of seconds "allows Rocketcash to focus on signing up new members and connecting teens with the coolest merchandise available on the Web."
