Diebold Has ATM Deal in Vietnam

Vietnam Private Bank has agreed to buy 1,000 Opteva automated teller machines from Diebold Inc. of North Canton, Ohio.

Diebold announced the deal Tuesday. Vietnam Private Bank, founded in 1993 and headquartered in Hanoi, plans to deploy 250 of the units in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City this year, Diebold said. The remaining ATMs will be installed at the bank's 80 branches in 2008 through 2010.

The entire country of Vietnam now has only 3,000 ATMs, according to Diebold.
