The Brussels banking company Dexia Inc. has agreed to purchase 1,000 automated teller machines from Diebold Inc.
The North Canton, Ohio, ATM company said last week that it would deliver its Opteva 328 EF/D machines to Dexia over the next two years.
The machines can accept cash deposits without an envelope and then give out the same notes to people making withdrawals. ATMs with this feature can save banks money, Diebold said, since the machines do not need to be restocked with cash as frequently.
Dexia has also agreed to use Diebold's Agilis Power ATM management software. The new machines will replace other Diebold machines.
