Discount Window Loans Fell to $2.14T

The Federal Reserve's balance sheet shrunk in the latest week as discount window borrowings fell.

The central bank's asset holdings in the week ended Nov. 11 declined to $2.14 trillion from $2.17 trillion last week, the Fed said in a weekly report released Thursday.

Total discount window borrowing dropped to $107.77 billion Wednesday from $109.97 billion a week earlier.

Borrowing by commercial banks through the Fed's discount window fell to $19.88 billion from $22.48 billion.

The Fed's portfolio of Treasury securities was broadly unchanged at $776.52 billion, compared with $776.51 billion.
