Silverton Bank, a bankers' bank in Atlanta, announced Tuesday that it has agreed to offer Discover Financial Services credit cards to community banks.
Silverton plans to offer the Preferred card and the Elite with Concierge card to its more than 1,500 community bank customers.
Both cards offer users Discover's Perks Everyday rewards program and access to its Buy Smart online shopping service, which features discounts from merchants.
Elite with Concierge also gives cardholders access to a free concierge service that can handle a variety of personal requests at any time.
Discover has said that signing up more bank issuers is a key goal.
Gloria Colgan, the Riverwoods, Ill., company's senior vice president of network marketing and strategy, said in a Silverton press release, "This new relationship is another important example of how Discover Network is working with leading community banks to help them drive loyalty, increase transaction volume and offer more choice and value to their customers."
