MENLO PARK, Calif. - E-Trade Group Inc. has entered into an agreement with AT&T Wireless Group that allows the online financial services firm to offer AT&T Wireless customers Internet access to real-time stock quotes, trading, research, personal portfolios, market updates, news, and commentary.
These features will be available via Wireless Application Protocol-enabled mobile phones, a type of device that E-Trade customers were not able to use before. AT&T is the only wireless network provider to offer data services with no additional subscription or airtime charges. It has more than 12 million subscribers.
Free access to the Destination E-Trade Web site is immediately available through the AT&T Digital PocketNet service, on which E-Trade will be featured in the finance category.
As part of its overall E-Trade Everywhere strategy, E-Trade has also signed agreements with OmniSky, Verizon Wireless, OracleMobile.com, and Everypath, a wireless technology enabler.
