Europeans Offer Details on Stress Tests

European banking regulators will publish bank-by-bank stress test results July 23, a European Commission spokeswoman said Tuesday. The tests, performed by the Committee of European Banking Supervisors, will examine banks at the corporate level, said spokeswoman Chantal Hughes.

National regulators two weeks later may decide to publish results of banking subsidiaries operating within their borders. "In order not to mix the different exercises, it was agreed that the supervisory authorities wishing to disclose the results of stress tests done on foreign subsidiaries will not do so before two weeks from the release of the results of the CEBS exercise," Hughes said.
