Executive Changes: Amazon.com Marketer Joins FleetBoston's Robertson

FleetBoston Robertson Stephens Inc. in San Francisco has hired Allen Olivo as chief marketing officer.

Mr. Olivo will be in charge of public relations, advertising, events, creative services, and Internet marketing for the investment bank.

He was vice president of corporate marketing, in charge of global communications, for Seattle-based Amazon.com. Earlier he was in charge of marketing communications for Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple Computer, Inc.


MIDWESTLaSalle Bank, a division of Dutch ABN Amro, has hired Joseph Bagnato as a vice president in its broker-dealer services division. He will be based in Basking, N.J., and report to John Coban, first vice president and director of sales. Mr. Bagnato, 41, came from the retail trading department of SG Cowen & Co. in New York. He has 19 years of banking experience.

Ford Motor Credit Co. in Dearborn, Mich., has hired Barrett Burns as executive vice president of global risk management.

Mr. Burns, 54, was the operations and risk management director and co-manager for e-commerce alliances for Banc One Credit Co. Earlier he was group credit officer for U.S. and consumer banking at Citibank.

Mr. Burns will report to Donald A. Winkler, chairman and chief executive officer of the automotive finance company, a subsidiary of Ford Motor Co.


MIDDLE ATLANTICThe Federal Reserve Bank of New York has promoted Brian L. Peters to a senior vice presidency in its bank supervision group

Mr. Peters is in charge of financial examinations. He had been a vice president since 1998. He joined the bank in 1990 as a bank examiner and was named as an examining officer in 1995 and an assistant vice president in 1996.

The New York Fed also promoted David H. Friedman to a vice presidency in its financial services group, of which he will be senior administrative officer.

Mr. Friedman had been an assistant vice president in the group since 1998. He joined the bank in the public information, bank relations, and planning and control functions group in 1967 and was promoted to officer rank in 1996.


Ixnet Inc. and IPC Information Systems in New York have hired Richard Farrell as managing director of global sales for both companies.Ixnet Inc. is a network services company that provides global extranet for the financial community. IPC Information Systems, a subsidiary of IPC Communications, delivers integrated multimedia communications solutions to the financial trading industry.

Mr. Farrell was senior vice president of strategic accounts for Reuters America Inc., for which he had worked 10 years. Earlier he was an account sales manager for IPC Information Systems. Still earlier he worked in the national accounts division of International Business Machines Corp.


SOUTHEASTHibernia National Bank in New Orleans has hired Jennifer L. Weed as a vice president of e-commerce

Ms. Weed will work on Hibernia's Web site and on on-line banking products. She came from M&T Bank in Buffalo; earlier she worked for People's Heritage Bank in Portland, Maine.

Hibernia also hired Hillyer S. Parker as an assistant vice president of commercial real estate. He will be a portfolio manager for commercial real estate developers.

Mr. Parker came from Iberia Bank in Lafayette, La. He has four years of banking experience.


SOUTHWESTBank of America Corp. has promoted Lee Q. Vardaman to credit products executive for Texas. Mr. Vardaman will lead a team to support commercial banking clients. He will also serve on the company's credit products council, a national forum aimed at optimizing the client experience in the commercial credit process.

He was a commercial bank credit risk officer for Bank of America's Panhandle, Central Texas, and Corpus Christi markets. Earlier he was a commercial lending manager in Corpus Christi. He joined NationsBank, now called Bank of America, 14 years ago.
