Executive Changes: Warburg Hires Lehman Bros. Executive For High-Yield Post

Warburg Dillon Read in New York has hired Ed Massaro as a managing director and head of high-yield capital markets for the Americas, a newly created post.

Mr. Massaro will be in charge of new issues of high-yield, mezzanine, and emerging market corporate debt in the Americas. He will report to Art Penn, global head co-head of leveraged finance, and Robert Wolf, global co-head of credit products.

Mr. Massaro was a senior vice president in high-yield capital markets at Lehman Brothers. Before joining Lehman two years ago he worked at Salomon Smith Barney.


NEW ENGLAND

Peoples Heritage Financial Group in Portland, Maine, has promoted William E. Hunt Jr. to vice president in the loan review department.Mr. Hunt is a senior loan analyst and will continue to supervise a team of analysts in reviewing the commercial loan portfolios of subsidiary banks.

He joined Peoples Heritage in 1995. Earlier he worked at KeyBank. He has 11 years of banking experience.

Peoples Heritage has also promoted Ginnie A. Ricker and Christy L. Cousins to assistant vice president.

Ms. Ricker is a systems manager, help desk manager, and customer service manager in the Lewiston, Maine, office. She joined the company in 1996 and has 13 years of banking experience.

Ms. Cousins manages a branch in Scarborough. She joined the company in 1985 and has 22 years of banking experience.

Peoples Heritage has $13.9 billion of assets.


MIDWEST

Commerce Bancshares in Kansas City, Mo., has hired Dan Myers as a regional investment specialist in its Commerce Brokerage Services Inc.He was a financial adviser at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

Mr. Myers will provide financial planning in the bank's east region, which includes Independence, Blue Springs, Raytown, and Lee's Summit, Mo. He has two years of financial planning experience.


MIDDLE ATLANTIC

PNC Advisors has promoted assistant vice presidents Patrick J. Donahue and Charles H. Slaybaugh to vice president in its Wilmington, Del., office.The two men administer corporate custody accounts in the institutional investment group.

Mr. Donahue joined PNC Bank in 1996 as an assistant vice president in corporate financial services. He has 14 years of portfolio management experience.

Mr. Slaybaugh has 17 years of financial services experience. He has been with PNC since 1995, when it bought Bank of Delaware, for which he had worked since 1987.


SOUTHEAST

Hibernia National Bank in New Orleans has promoted Natalie Martello Barber, Bobby Gardner, Myra D. Holland, and Madelyn C. Long to assistant vice presidencies.Ms. Barber will manage the central branch in Baton Rouge, La. She was a banking officer at that branch. She joined Hibernia in 1995.

Mr. Gardner will oversee consumer collections for Texas and Louisiana. He was a manager of consumer collections. He joined the bank in 1996 and has 14 years of experience.

Ms. Holland will manage the Greenwell Springs, La., branch. She was a banking officer there. She joined the bank in 1998.

Ms. Long will manage the Denham Springs, La., branch, where she was a banking officer. She joined Hibernia in 1980.


WEST

Bank of the West in San Francisco has hired Lisa R. Kendoll and Darcy Chalmers as vice presidents in the community banking group.Ms. Kendoll will be a customer service manager. She came from U.S. Bank, which had been her employer since 1996; that is when it bought West One Bank, for which she had worked since 1992. Earlier she was at Hewlett-Packard Co. in Corvallis, Ore., and still earlier at Citizens Bank of Corvallis.

Ms. Chalmers will manage the Beaverton Mall branch in Beaverton, Ore. She had worked for Key Bank there as an assistant vice president and private banking relationship manager. Before that she was a loan officer at Landmark Mortgage in Portland.
