Farewell to NCR Teller Machines - AT&T to Use Its Own Logo

AT&T Global Information Solutions, formerly NCR Corp., will replace the NCR brand name on its automated teller machines and other self-service products with the familiar AT&T globe.

When the Dayton, Ohio-based company first announced the name change last year, the decision was made to continue using the NCR brand on financial products because the NCR brand was well known in the industry. However, several worldwide studies showed that both U.S. and international customers and prospects recognize the AT&T name. The company then decided that since the AT&T brand is more representative of the corporate strategy, the change would be made.

In related news, AT&T GIS announced it shipped 30,136 ATMs in 1994. The company also shipped 2,388 customer interactive self-service systems. -
