Fed Chief to Face Questions

Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke is to appear before Congress twice next week to offer his economic forecast and answer questions about the handling of the financial crisis.

He is to testify before the Senate Banking Committee on Tuesday and the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday.

Though these semiannual appearances are typically dominated by monetary policy, Mr. Bernanke is sure to field numerous banking questions.

His testimony to the Senate will come a day after the Fed is expected to approve final rules under the Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act.

He will also probably be questioned on how the Fed would regulate investment banks.
