Fidelity Appoints 3 Retail Executives

Fidelity Investments, in an ongoing retooling of management ranks, named three people to its retail group.

Martha B. "Marty" Willis, 37, has been named executive vice president of the retail mutual fund group. The 13-year Fidelity veteran was promoted from senior vice president of broker-dealer market managements at Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Co.

Ms. Willis will be responsible for development and marketing of Fidelity's retail mutual funds.

Joan Bloom, 42, was named senior vice president of equity products. She has broad marketing experience both at Fidelity, which she joined in 1990, and at Shawmut National Corp. and BayBanks Inc.

David Giunta, 31, was promoted to senior vice president of fixed-income and specialty products. He is former vice president of new business development at Fidelity Investments Institutional Services. Before joining Fidelity in 1994, he worked for Putnam and Bank of Boston.

Ms. Bloom and Mr. Giunta will report to Ms. Willis.

Fidelity is the nation's largest mutual fund company.
