First Boston hired to plan for FHLB.

WASHINGTON -- The Federal Housing Finance Board said it chose First Boston Corp. to advise it on a long-range plan, called System 2000, for the Federal Home Loan Bank System.

Daniel F. Evans Jr., chairman of the housing finance board, said First Boston is bringing in two subcontractors: the Enterprise Foundation, a nonprofit agency that supports neighborhood housing organizations, and the KH Consulting Group.

The First Boston team, which won the contract over 16 other formal bidders, will first review and confirm research and conclusions by the home loan bank system. For the second phase, several task forces have been formed to make recommendations on products, membership, governance/operations, and community development.
