First Financial Names Executive

First Financial Bank, Downingtown, Pa., the thrift subsidiary of Chester Valley Bancorp, promoted two executives to executive vice president and senior vice president, respectively, and three others to assistant vice president.

Senior vice president of lending Colin N. Maropis was named executive vice president. He joined the thrift in 1977 and became assistant vice president of lending in 1983, vice president in 1986, and senior vice president in 1989.

Edward S. Lawrence 3d, vice president of lending, was promoted to senior vice president, succeeding Mr. Maropis. Mr. Lawrence joined First Financial in 1991 as a vice president and commercial loan officer.

Meanwhile, Joanne T. Breslin, marketing manager, was promoted to assistant vice president. She also manages the thrift's call center.

Celeste Moore, First Financial's Thorndale, Pa., branch manager, was promoted to assistant vice president.

And Cheryl M. Owens, a loan underwriter, was promoted to assistant vice president. She is responsible for community reinvestment duties and First Financial's first-time homebuyer program.

Chester Valley Bancorp has $322 million of assets.
