First Interstate Card aims to chop costs.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- First Interstate Bank announced a new type of corporate credit card that significantly reduces the cost to businesses of purchasing and invoicing.

The First Interstate Purchasing Card captures critical accounting data at the point of sale, including purchase order codes, sales tax accounting, merchant types and line-item detail, while eliminating multiple-check issuance, as only one check is required to pay for a variety of purchases and pay a host of vendors.

The card is designed to save money for cash-management customers.

First Interstate has already begun offering a MasterCard purchasing card and will shortly offer a Visa brand as well.
