Alan R. Thompson was appointed Phoenix-area president for Fint Interstate Bank of Arizona, a unit of First Bancorp, Los Angeles.
Mr. Thompson will have directresponsibility for the day-to-day operations of 108 retail branches in metropolitan Phoenix and northwestern Arizona.
In addition to retail banking, Mr. Thompson will be responsible for the bank's community activities and commercial and small-business banking programs in those markets.
He had been executive vice president and manager of the retail banking group, with responsibilities for retail operations of the bank's offices in six southwestern states.
William Randall, chairman and chief executive officer of First Interstate Bank of Arizona, continues as CEO of the bank's Southwest. Region. He also assumes responsibility for the holding company's finance roup and will be chairman of its trust council.
