John Lewis, executive vice president and manager of regional administration at First Interstate Bank of Arizona, Phoenix, has been elected president of the Arizona Bankers Association for a one-year term.
Mr. Lewis has worked for First Interstate Bank Systems since 1974.
He joined First Interstate of Arizona in 1990 as executive vice president and head of the human resource management group. He was named manager of regional administration in 1991.
The Cleveland-based bank is projecting steady growth in net interest income even as credit losses remain manageable. But Chairman and CEO Chris Gorman also said that he thinks a recession is likely.
