executive vice president of production. He will lead all loan origination activities at the mortgage subsidiaries of Fleet Financial Group Inc. Mr. Daly is a well-traveled mortgage industry veteran. Most recently, he was president and co-owner of Pratt-Daly Corp., a mortgage industry management and sales consulting firm based in San Diego. He formed the consultancy with Jim Pratt in 1992. Before starting his consulting business, Mr. Daly had led Security Pacific Bank's home mortgage division from 1991 until it was acquired by Bank of America. Beginning in 1985, he was president of Glenfed Mortgage Corp. and executive vice president of retail lending for its parent, Glendale Federal, before joining Security Pacific. "The addition of Jack Daly to our executive staff is part of an ongoing strategy to build a senior management team that will provide Fleet with a competitive edge in a very competitive industry," said Gerald L. Baker, chairman and chief executive officer of Fleet Mortgage Group. Mr. Baker, too, is a recent arrival at Fleet Mortgage. Previously, he was managing director at Countrywide Credit Industries in charge of marketing. He went to Fleet last November. Besides Mr. Daly's appointment, Fleet Mortgage has been hiring for its information systems, marketing and communications, and product development departments. Mr. Daly will oversee loan production at Fleet Mortgage Corp., Fleet Real Estate Funding, Fleet Mortgage Services, and Fleet Realty Services. Fleet Mortgage Group had been publicly traded until earlier this year, when Fleet Financial completed a tender offer for the 10% of the company it did not already own.
