HERMITAGE, Pa. - F.N.B. Corp., which owns banks and insurance agencies in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, has signed an agreement to buy the James T. Blalock insurance agency of Venice, Fla.
The seller is Des Champs & Gregory Inc., an independent insurance agency in Bradenton, Fla.
The Blalock agency, which will retain its name, will operate as a division of F.N.B.'s Roger Bouchard Insurance of Clearwater, Fla. Current Blalock employees will be retained and new ones hired, Bouchard said.
Bouchard, which F.N.B. bought last December, has itself already bought two agencies this year. It sells commercial, personal, and life and health lines as well as other financial products.
The Blalock purchase is expected to close in the first two weeks of January. The price was not disclosed.
