Bank marketing executive David J. Totaro has joined Caesars World Inc. as senior vice president of marketing.
Formerly executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Dime Bancorp in New York, Mr. Totaro, 52, is responsible for all marketing and advertising programs, including management of the Caesars brand worldwide. He reports to chairman and chief executive officer Peter G. Boynton.
"We are fortunate to have attracted someone with David's vast experience in building brands to lead us to even higher levels of recognition," Mr. Boynton said.
While at Dime, Mr. Totaro managed a marketing program that resulted in a tripling of consumer awareness levels. Before that he was with Chase Manhattan Bank and its predecessor Chemical Bank, where he managed Chemplus and other brands.
He began his career with Avon Products Inc. Later, he joined the Whitehall Laboratory Division of American Home Products Inc. as director of marketing, where he introduced Advil, the world's leading brand of ibuprofen analgesic.
