Global Bank Survey Published by Group

The Institute of International Bankers' annual Global Survey of Regulatory and Market Developments in Banking, Securities and Insurance has been published.

The 207-page report describes trends in global financial markets, including the privatization and consolidation of banks and the preparations for monetary unity in Europe. New this year are details on access to payment systems and capital adequacy requirements for market risk.

A number of foreign countries also are developing or improving real-time gross settlement systems to reduce liquidity and credit risk, according to the survey.
