Green Tree Hit by 2 Shareholder Lawsuits

Green Tree Financial Corp. was named this week in two shareholder lawsuits alleging that it misrepresented its financial condition. The company's stock plummeted more than 30% last month after it disclosed a $150 million charge to cover prepayments.

One suit on behalf of buyers of common stock from Jan. 27 to Nov. 19, was filed by Stull, Stull & Brody, New York, and Heins, Mills & Olson, Minneapolis. The other, filed by the Philadelphia-based firm of Spector & Roseman, applies to purchases from Jan. 27 to Nov. 13.u
