Heritage Bank of Commerce, San Jose, Calif., has hired Steve Snarr and Nesly Moquette as vice presidents.

Mr. Snarr, who will lead Heritage's commercial loan team, had been a vice president of commercial lending at San Jose National Bank for seven years.

Ms. Moquette will be responsible for banking services at the $268 million-asset bank.

She was an assistant vice president of new accounts at U.S. Bank of California, a unit of Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp.

She had the same job with Commercial Bank of Fremont, which U.S. Bancorp bought last March.

Heritage Bank also promoted senior vice president Kenneth Silveira to executive vice president of operations and administration, and vice president Denise Van Houten to senior vice president of real estate construction lending.

Mr. Silveira joined the bank in June 1994, when Heritage was established. Earlier he was a vice president of retail banking administration at Bank of America.

Ms. Houten joined the bank in September 1994, after working as vice president of construction lending at Foothill Bank, Los Altos, Calif.
