Hibernia Corp. Names Executive

Hibernia Corp., New Orleans, has promoted Leo Nelson to Bastrop city president. He succeeds Henry W. Bridges, who resigned in September, the bank said.

Mr. Nelson, 35, is responsible for managing operations and developing business in Morehouse Parish, which includes Bastrop, in Northeast Louisiana. He was the assistant vice president in charge of commercial lending in Madison Parish.

He came to Hibernia in the 1994 acquisition of First Bancorp of Louisiana. He had joined First Bancorp's Southern National Bank at Tallulah in 1985.
