Howell Leaving Memphis' National Bank of Commerce

Walter B. Howell Jr., vice chairman of National Bank of Commerce, Memphis, will retire Saturday after 27 years with the bank.

Mr. Howell, who was named head of the bank's asset management group last year, most recently held responsibility for income-producing nontraditional banking lines of business. His duties have been re-assigned to other members of the management committee.

He said that after some time off he would pursue "an opportunity outside the financial services industry."
