HSBC Unit Names Chief U.S. Economist

Kevin Logan has become the chief U.S. economist at the U.S. securities unit of HSBC Holdings PLC, filling a job left vacant by Ian Morris who resigned in December after 15 years of service.

Logan, 60, told Dow Jones Newswires on Monday that he started at HSBC last week. Before that, he was a senior U.S. economist at Dresdner Kleinwort Securities LLC, where he had worked since 1996.
