Huntington Bancshares Names Executive

Huntington Bancshares in Columbus, Ohio, has promoted seven senior vice presidents to executive vice president.

Their responsibilities at the $29 billion-asset company are unchanged.

Martin P. Mahan is the executive for Huntington's west Florida region, which includes Tampa/St. Petersburg, Sarasota/Bradenton, and Fort Myers/Naples.

Mr. Mahan joined Huntington last year when it bought 60 Barnett Bank branches. He had worked 12 years at Barnett, winding up as a director of retail delivery. NationsBank Corp., now Bank of America Corp., divested those branches as part of its purchase of Barnett Banks Inc.

John O. Huston is the executive director of Huntington's commercial services group, managing all commercial lines of business-treasury management, global services, commercial credit, and business banking as well as merchant services and Huntington Capital Corp.

Before joining Huntington in 1997 he was managing director of the national banking group for Fleet Financial Group in Boston.

Beth A. Russell is the treasury group manager for investment and off- balance-sheet portfolios, corporate debt issuance, and other wholesale treasury functions. Ms. Russell joined Huntington in 1981 as a money market trader.

Stephen C. Daniels is the retail executive for Huntington's southwest region, which includes 39 branches in northern Kentucky and in Dayton, Springfield, and Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as 24 branches in Indiana.

Mr. Daniels joined Huntington in 1997 when it purchased his previous employer, Citizens Bank in Cincinnati.

Nicholas G. Stanutz is director of consumer credit. He is in charge of all consumer lending activities, including indirect, direct, and credit card lending. Before joining Huntington's indirect lending division in 1986, Mr. Stanutz was a vice president at Indiana National Bank in Indianapolis.

Anne W. Creek runs the finance department and investor relations. She joined in 1994 as chief financial officer of Huntington Mortgage Co.

Dorothy R. Brownley is director of corporate and government relations. Ms. Brownley joined Huntington in 1985 and has managed corporate and government relations since 1987.
