Illinois' new North Shore names Close as president.

John W. Close has been named president and chief executive officer of the nascent North Shore Community Bank and Trust Co., Wilmette, Ill.

The bank is scheduled to open in this month. It will be the only full-service bank in the Wilmette community owned and operated by area residents.

The 45-year-old local banker had been president of Harris Bank Wilmette since

1988. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of Harris Bank Glencoe, where he worked in the credit, finance, and operations departments for eleven years.

Robert H. Meeder has been appointed executive vice president of the new bank.

Mr. Meeder had been a senior vice president in the lending department of Harris Bank Wilmette and joins the new bank with 14 years of banking experience.
