First Defiance Financial Corp., Ohio, said it plans to acquire Insurance Center of Defiance Inc., for an undisclosed amount.

First Defiance, a $782 million-asset thrift holding company, expects the insurance agency acquisition to boost fee income, said Don C. Van Brackel, chairman and chief executive.

Insurance Center is privately held. It offers property and casualty and life insurance.
