BOSTON - AAA's southern New England chapter is offering online banking to its 1.8 million members through a partnership with 1st Webbank Direct.com, a division of Sovereign Bank.
Members of the chapter can conduct banking transactions online, through automated teller machines, by telephone, or at any of Sovereign's 281 branches. The online bank can be reached through AAA's main Web site.
AAA Southern New England has been offering financial services since 1939, beginning with auto financing. It has had a relationship with Sovereign for five years, said Robert P. Murray, senior vice president of the southern New England chapter. Sovereign provides auto loan programs to the chapter's members.
