In Brief: Activist Groups to Picket Citigroup Offices

CHICAGO - National People's Action, a coalition of 10 community activist groups, is planning to demonstrate at Citigroup Inc. offices in several cities today to protest what they call the company's "predatory and discriminatory lending practices."

The activist groups have been demanding a meeting with Robert Rubin, chairman of Citigroup's executive committee and a former Treasury secretary but thus far to no avail. They plan to continue pressing for that meeting through the protests today, setting a deadline of March 1.
