AMSTERDAM, N.Y. - Ambanc Holding Co. has extended the deadline on its offer to acquire Cohoes Bancorp of Cohoes, N.Y., by one month, to Oct. 6.
Ambanc, which began its tender offer last month, is one of two companies pursuing Cohoes, whose agreement to merge with Hudson River Bancorp fell apart after shareholders rejected it last month.
Trustco Bank Corp. of Schenectady, N.Y., has also said it would continue to pursue Cohoes.
