SHELTON, Conn. - American Skandia Marketing Inc.'s Web site was named the best in the first quarter in Dalbar's survey of insurance companies that sell investment products.
Dalbar, a rating and research company in Boston, evaluated the Web sites of all major insurance companies and for quality of services offered, ease of use, editorial content, and functionality. Good functionality included providing access to account information as well as information about products and services.
Christian Thwaites, senior vice president of marketing at American Skandia, said, "We have made our Internet development and presence a priority" in guiding financial professionals who sell Skandia funds to investors.
Dalbar also honored American Skandia's offline businesses. The company won Dalbar's 1999 Intermediary Service Award and received the No. 1 ranking in 17 of the 18 categories in Dalbar's 1999 report card on companies that provide investment products to the broker-dealer community.
