In Brief: Ameritrade to Buy Software Firm TradeCast

OMAHA - Ameritrade Holding Corp., the online brokerage, said Wednesday that it will acquire TradeCast Ltd. of Houston, which sells software designed for active traders, paying about $67.3 million in stock.

Ameritrade said it will integrate certain parts of its systems with TradeCast's platform, which enables direct-access online stock trading. TradeCast said it developed the first "point-and-click" trading software for individual equity traders.
