SAN FRANCISCO ABN Amro has signed an agreement with Digital Island Inc. to outsource management of the Internet infrastructure supporting wholesale customers.
The banking company will use Digital Islands CustomHost package to support its treasury, fixed-income, and structured finance e-commerce applications.
Amro, which expects to expand its wholesale client base significantly during the next year, estimates it will save 25% of the costs of hosting, networking, and supporting these cross-border operations by working with Digital Island.
Among financial services companies that have adopted Digital Islands Internet infrastructure are American Express Co., E-Trade Group Inc., J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., and UBS Warburg.
