In Brief: An Ohio Bank to Buy Office in Granville

First National Bank of Zanesville (Ohio) said last week it has a deal for the Granville, Ohio, branch of Cleveland's National City Bank.

The $1.2 billion-asset bank would buy the physical facility, all deposits, and certain loans for an undisclosed price and would merge it into a First National branch.

The combined deposits would give First National the second-largest deposit share in the central Ohio city.

First National operates 22 branches in four Ohio counties. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
