In Brief: Bank of N.Y. Gets Harvard Asset Work

NEW YORK — Harvard Management Co., which manages Harvard University’s $19 billion endowment fund, has appointed Bank of New York Co. to provide global custody, clearing, and cash management services for $1.75 billion of the assets, a job formerly handled by Citigroup Inc.

The assets are invested mainly in developing countries.
