In Brief: Bank of N.Y. Opens Small-Biz Centers

NEW YORK - Bank of New York Co. has opened 12 centers devoted to local small businesses.

Bank of New York, which already operated two such centers in Manhattan, is the latest in a string of large banking companies to turn more attention to the lower end of the corporate banking ladder.

The 12 new centers are located in the surrounding boroughs of New York City and in suburban areas of Long Island, Westchester County, and northern New Jersey.
