In Brief: Bank One Sets Up Large-Institution Unit

CHICAGO — Bank One Corp. has formed an institutional asset management unit to handle large institutional clients.

The unit was formed Nov. 1 as part of Banc One Investment Advisors because of substantial growth in institutional assets, to almost $30 billion, according to the company.

It will aim to provide investment products to clients with more than $10 million in assets.

John Abunasser, a Bank One senior managing director, will direct the new unit. Mr. Abunasser, 33, has served in several investment management roles with institutional clients. Before joining Bank One in 1992 he advised large institutional clients on portfolio management strategies at Capital Control Group in Chicago.
