In Brief: BankDirect Drawings To Award Flier Miles

DALLAS - BankDirect customers will have the chance to win frequent-flier miles from American Airlines.

From Aug. 25 through Oct. 13 the Internet bank will announce winners of 10,000 AAdvantage miles every week, and on Oct. 27 it will award a grand prize of 100,000 miles.

The sweepstakes is intended to raise awareness of a set of BankDirect products launched in April that award AAdvantage miles. AAdvantage members can earn 1,000 miles, redeemable for air travel, hotel stays, or other options, by opening a checking or money market account. Miles can also be earned by maintaining monthly account balances and by signing up for direct deposit.
