DALLAS - BankDirect, the Internet bank founded in May 1999, signed up its 30,000th customer last week.
BankDirect is among the leading U.S. online banks in customers enrolled and deposits, with $360 million.
"Our strategy was to employ a 'no branch' model of Internet banking that offered customers higher value, convenience and financial control," said Scott Prince, president.
BankDirect, a division of Dallas-based Texas Capital Bank, says it added many customers through an incentive agreement with American Airlines.
AAdvantage members can earn miles by opening checking and money market accounts and certificates of deposit with BankDirect as well as by using services such as direct deposit and bill payment.
