In Brief: Big CU Is Corillian Wireless Customer

PORTLAND, Ore. — Golden 1 Credit Union of California will be the first customer to offer wireless banking using the Corillian Voyager platform, Corillian Corp. announced.

Through an agreement with Atlanta partner Air2Web, a wireless platform provider, Corillian will integrate the wireless service into its Voyager Internet banking platform. That will enable financial institutions to give consumers and small businesses the ability to transfer funds between accounts, check their account balances, and review transaction histories through their digital cell phones, pagers, and other Web-enabled devices.

Corillian Voyager customers for online banking include Bank One Corp., Wachovia Corp., and SunTrust Banks Inc.

Golden 1, based in Sacramento, is the sixth-largest credit union in the United States and the largest in California, with more than $3.1 billion of assets. It should have wireless banking up and running in several weeks, a Corillian spokesman said in making the announcement last week.
