In Brief: CCB Rescinds Share Buyback Program

DURHAM, N.C. - CCB Financial Corp. said its board rescinded the balance of the two million-share repurchase program announced Feb. 1, due to the pending merger with National Commerce Bancorp.

CCB said that as of June 30 there were about 800,000 shares remaining under the repurchase authorization. The deal, announced March 17, was approved by shareholders of both companies during special meetings held June 29.
