In Brief: Certicom Transfers a VP, Promotes 2d Exec

Certicom Corp., which promotes elliptic curve cryptography systems, named Tim Dierks vice president of product development and promoted Paul Lambert to vice president of product management.

Mr. Dierks was previously vice president of engineering at Consensus Development Corp., a maker of cryptographic tool kits for software developers, which Certicom acquired last year. He is active in the Internet Engineering Task Force's Transport Layer Security working group.

Mr. Lambert, who had been director of technology marketing, will be responsible for overall product strategy and implementation. He has held data security posts at Motorola Inc. and Oracle Corp. and is founder and co-chairman of the Internet Engineering Task Force's Internet protocol security working group.
