In Brief: Chamness Promoted At CFI ProServices

PORTLAND, Ore. - Robert P. Chamness was promoted to president and chief operating officer of CFI ProServices Inc., the huge compliance software company.

Mr. Chamness, well known as a speaker at industry conferences and schools, has been CFI's general counsel and executive vice president.

He succeeds Ken Olsen, who is leaving CFI's board but will remain on the payroll as a consultant. CFI employs 300 people and sells compliance software to 3,300 financial institutions.

"Since joining CFI in April of 1993, Bob's leadership abilities have helped establish the tone and direction of the company," said Matt Chapman, CFI's chairman and chief executive officer. "In addition to his management skills, Bob is nationally recognized by the financial services industry as an expert on regulatory compliance."

Prior to joining CFI, Mr. Chamness was a lawyer with McKenna Conner & Cuneo in San Francisco.
